Hi, I’m Hazel. Here is where Hazel A Patterns began.
In 2019, my best friend Vicky decided to take the plunge and start her own business. We had both worked for a fabric company for years, so naturally it was fabrics that she turned to. Vicky’s great gift is to have an eye for design combinations, (in fact, I never shop for fabric without her), so she decided to open an online store that offered subscription boxes.
So where did I come into this plan?
Vicky wanted to offer more than just some lovely fabrics in her boxes, and had thought of offering a pattern. So I said “I can do that!”. At that point I had only basic word processing skills, but I do have a background in fashion design, plus a qualification to teach at a further education level, so was confident that I could gain the rest of the skills that I needed.
Now whiz forward to 2021, and here I am, with multiple patterns produced, a lot more to come, and finally a website of my own! I absolutely love what I do, and feel that now is the time to stop being shy and to get my musings out of my head and onto a blog!
